Make It Glass studio specializes in the field of teaching various methods of art glass fusion. Glass fusion is simply the process of heating two different pieces of glass and melting, or fusing, them together. The pieces vary in shapes, sizes and colors to achieve a unique design and effect.
Make It Glass specifically teaches 3 different methods of glass fusion: Full Fusion, Tack Fusing and Slumping. Full Fusion is the process of heating two different pieces of glass to become totally integrated, while still maintaining certain characteristics in shape or color. Tack Fusing is the process of heating the glass to the point where two pieces stick together, while maintaining distinct characteristics. Slumping is the process of heating a piece of glass on top of a mold until the glass sumps into or over the mold. Each one of these techniques creates beautiful pieces of glass art!
