Reviews Cedar Run Wildlife Refuge NJ Woodford Cedar Run Wildlife Refuge is set on 171 acres at the western edge of Pinelands habitat. We offer a unique habitat that is characterized by sandy, acidic soils. You’ll see lots of pitch pine and white cedar as well as chestnut oak and wild blueberry bushes during your hike. Before you begin, stop in our Nature Center to check out our exhibits, pay trail admission and pick up a refuge map. Admission is $7 for adults 13 and over, $5 for children 4-12, children 3 & under and members are free. Our Nature Center is open Mon-Fri 9:00am-5:00pm and Sat-Sun 10:00am-4:00pm. Our 3 miles of trails wind through our Refuge and into our wildlife housing area. Here you can observe more than 60 of our resident wildlife including eagles, raccoons, deer, hawks, owls and more.

Refuge Adventures
Bring your group to explore Cedar Run. Programs are suitable for all ages and can be adapted to meet your needs. Stay to enjoy lunch in their picnic pavilion. Whether you choose their 3.5-hour “Nature of the Pines” programming or their 2-hour “Tails and Trails,” students will be engaged as they tour their wildlife housing area, hike the nature trail and have an up-close wildlife program.

Refuge on Wheels
Can’t come to the Refuge? They'll bring the animals to you! Programs are 30 minutes-1 hour in length and cover a variety of topics for pre-K students through adults. Preschool and Homeschool Classes
Cedar Run Wildlife Refuge Medford NJKnee-High Naturalists (ages 3-5), Nature Nuts (ages 6-12) - On the second Tuesday and Wednesday of the month, running September-June (excluding December), one of their educators will help you and your child explore nature through hands-on lessons, animal encounters and outdoor adventures. Choose from the 10:00am or 1:00pm session. You will spend time outdoors, so please dress for the weather. Pre-registration is required. Visit their website for more information.

Summer Camps
Walk in the woods, dig in the dirt, and wade in the water during their week-long nature camps. Daily activities include hands-on experiences and experiments, visits with native wildlife, and creative play. Sessions available for ages 3 through 8th grade. Birthday Parties
Cedar Run is a great venue for your youth AND adult birthday parties. Adult parties are based on your interest but typically include a guided tour of the animals and an up close and personal meet and greet with some of our raptors and/or reptiles. Adult party prices are program dependent.

Youth birthday parties at the refuge are 2 hours and are scheduled from 10:00AM-12:00PM or 1:00PM-3:00PM on weekends and on weekdays by special arrangement. Night hike times are dependent on the season. Choose from their themes, or call them with a special request. All themes can be adapted to meet the age of the birthday child. Just ask!

Youth Parties include a themed program delivered by one of their education staff and use of their party room or outdoor pavilion for the full 2 hours (first or last half hour is reserved for food, etc.). Visit their website for themes, pricing and more information.

Scout It Out

Their education staff can tailor a program to meet many of the requirements you are looking to fulfill. They’re also a great place to perform service projects!

Scouts can choose from several programs that include nature-based activities and visits with native wildlife. Hike the grounds! Sharpen your skills! Get up close and personal with raptors, reptiles and more.
