Located right on the beautiful Passaic River this park is the perfect place for family gatherings, a stroll along the river, or a few innings of baseball. With all the amenities you could ask for in a county park like a picnicking Pavillion, athletic fields, and a great playground for the younger crowd this is one of the best parks in Bergen County. If you just want to take a relaxing bike ride the multiple paths running through the park will take you through the scenic locations all over the park. 

Riverside County Park is also home to a number of kids sporting leagues offering manicured baseball, soccer, and football fields. Check their website for registration information. Bergen County goes to great lengths to keep this park clean and safe so you don't have to worry as you enjoy the river views as you explore the grounds. Flat Rock Brook Nature Preserve

Flat Rock Brook Nature Preserve is a natural woodland and one of the last remnants of the magnificent Palisades Forest. This 150-acre preserve is absolutely huge and filled with various fauna and flora found only here in New Jersey. The center is situated on the western slope of the Palisades. The preserve was founded in 1973 by citizens of Bergen County who are committed to land conservation and environmental education.

When you visit this natural environment you will be walking into a sanctuary for New Jersey's wildlife from the Urban areas that have taken over most of the area. If you are a hiking enthusiast, Flat Rock is the place to go, with numerous miles of trails open to the public and an educational center where you might get to meet some of the animals that inhabit the area if you go at the right time. Flat Rock Brook also offers year-round programs for children, adults, and families interested in gaining knowledge of the natural world while instilling a sense of responsibility to preserve it.

With a collection of photographs, historical records, and documents that are carefully preserved this museum has perfectly painted a picture of this area and how it became the town it is today. By encouraging discovery, appreciation, and understanding of these regions' heritage the museum provides perspective for the present and future. Ramapo Valley Reservation

If you are a dog enthusiast this is the perfect place to take your furry friend for a fun day of hiking on manicured trails that vary from an easy stroll to one of their many challenging trails on the eastern side of the Ramapo Mountains. With ten marked trails and their newest and longest 6.5-mile trail, you will discover new areas every time you visit the park. The winding streams and a gorgeous lake perfect for fishing or a quick dip make The Ramapo Valley County Reservation one of the most beautiful parks in Northern New Jersey. 

This Reserve is a staggering 4290.00 acres that used to be home to a former gravel quarry. Filled with wildlife and local fauna you are sure to see some exciting things as you take in the sights and smells of perfectly preserved nature. Outside of the commonly used core area the parkland has been left in its natural mostly hilly wild state forming the eastern tier of the Ramapo Mountains.
