Smell the Flowers!
We don’t know about you, but we could really go for a bit of wandering around a secret garden after the year we’ve had! Lucky for our residents and visitors, Somerset County has several unique and often little-known garden experiences to explore for throughout the fall. Take a stroll among the leaves and late season blooms, and escape reality for a while at our breathtaking rock or rose gardens, or at one of our arboretums.
Duke Farms
Trails, the arboretum and the Meditation Garden remain open for visitation. Current hours are Monday-Saturday from 8:30am-6:00pm.
Leonard J. Buck Garden
Somerset County’s renowned rock garden, the Leonard J. Buck Garden, reopened on June 16, 2020! Hours are Tues-Fri 10am-4pm, Saturdays 10am-5pm and Sundays 12pm-5pm.
Van der Goot Rose Garden
Renowned Van der Goot Rose Garden at Colonial Park reopened June 15, 2020! Hours are M, T, Th, and F from 10am-2pm, and Sat/Sun from 10am-4pm. Admittance for senior citizens on Saturdays and Sundays from 8-9:30am.
Somerset County Garden Itinerary
Calling all green thumbs and anthophiles! Somerset County is home to five internationally recognized garden experiences for you to explore. This Gardens Getaway is ideal during Spring and Summer when many plants are in peak bloom, but we recommend trying it during all four seasons to see the changing beauty throughout the year. Choose your garden experience! (We recommend two per day)
