The Montclair Art Museum, cited by the New York Times as “putting a new emphasis on ‘family friendly,’” offers a wide variety of programs that encourage children and families to explore, understand and enjoy the Museum’s collection and exhibitions. Programs such as MAM Park Bench, Home School Days, Family Art Adventure and Free Family Days provide various approaches for audiences to experience art together as a family.
Children especially enjoy their renowned collection of Native American Art and the Family Learning Lab, an interactive space that changes themes according to current exhibitions. The Yard School of Art at MAM is a leading regional art school that offers an array of classes for children, including drawing, painting, illustration, ceramics and digital media. It was named the #1 Art Camp in the 2015 Discover Jersey Arts People’s Choice Awards.
