Plan a class trip at Bergen Equestrian Center located at Overpeck Park in Leonia, New Jersey. Students will tour the facilities where there are over 70 horses including ponies and the students will learn many facts about them. Sessions are held year round and may be held indoors as well as outdoors.
Just by being in the presence of the horses students will practice mindfulness, develop confidence, build positive relationships with self and others, will honor diversity and build community support and respect for nature and the environment. The equestrian has a partnership with the Bergen County Audubon Society where students will be guided through nature walks, program presentations, conservation activities including an arts & craft project.
