We have not found a cooler idea yet than name night at a bar called "No Idea" Each night, they post a new name; if it's yours... you drink free from 5:00 to 11:00. Names are chosen at random. See the upcoming Name Night Calendar to see if your name is coming up! The only rules are that you must arrive with friends and you must tip the bartender. "No Idea" is actually a really good drinking bar. Be sure not to miss Puddles the one-legged bartender as an added bonus!

Visit a real Speakeasy! - A Hidden gem in the village Speakeasys were hidden clubs or bars which sold alcohol secretly and illegally during the prohibition era. One of the best hidden gems in all of New York is Chumley's. Chumley's which was an old speakeasy for writers and poets, has never had a sign or marking of any sort on its exterio,r to mark its presence. There is only an entrance which seems to go into a coutyard of an apartment building. Pictured to the left is that entrance. It is officially located at 86 Bedford Street just north of Barrow, Chumley's is rich in history and is packed most nights. NOW CLOSED

The Gutter is a new bar in Brooklyn with eight cool retro bowling lanes. The bar has a great retro vibe and sets the tone for a really different drinking experience. The scoring machines are not modern but are the old-style types straight out of the past. You will have a great time as you sit in awesome pleather captains?chairs at the bar and watch the bowlers. The computer controlling the bowling lanes date back at least 25 years! Hours are Monday through Thursday 4pm to 4am and Friday through Sunday 12 noon to 4am.

Locals say that this the place that invented the Bloody Mary. A one of a kind ambience that is worth experiencing. Drinks are on the high end here but worth the trip. Better than average food too! You might even see the rich and famous in here.

Bull and Bear Bar and Restaurant Waldorf Astoria Hotel The Mahogany bar is luxurios and the steaks compare to all the other high end Steakhouse's in NYC. This is a nice decadent place suited well to travelers, Celebritys and business people alike. Worth visiting at least once. The prices are on the higher end.
