THINGS TO DO IN NEW BRUNSWICK NJ |
| Jane Voorhees Zimmerli Art Museum NJ 732-932-7237 |
|

|
Awesome Art Museum that's easy on the wallet!
Our first stop in New Brunswick was the Jane Voorhees Zimmerili Art Museum located on 71 Hamilton Street. We were pleasantly surprised when we learned that the admission was only $3. You couldn't find a better way to spend three hours of your day for such a small price. The Jane Voorhees Zimmerli Art Museum was immaculately clean and very nicely set up. The Artwork collections range from 19th century early American and European to some amazing Russian Soviet displays. Great Non conformist art was on display as well as lithographs.
Very romantic lighting and large spacey galleries
The Zimmerli Art Museum's collections comprise a number of areas of focus and total 50,000 works of art. The museum itself is quite big and there is a lot of space to walk around without ever feeling crowded. The lighting is very moody and subtly romantic. This is a great way to start off your day trip in New Brunswick, whether on a romantic excursion for just the two of you or with the kids. The Museum has two children's areas where they can draw and learn about children's illustrations from famous Children's books.

Awesome Staff at the Glass Woods Tavern
We had a lot of fun with the staff at the Glass Woods Tavern in New Brunswick. Pictured to the left is (from left to right) Ricky, Alexandra and Fernando. They were all very accommodating and gave us much History of the Hotel and area. Alexandria knew all the hotspots in New Brunswick and gave us great ideas of where to go and what to do on our day trip.

|
Hotoke Restaurant 350 George st, New Brunswick NJ
Hotoke is a new restaurant, lounge and Sushi bar right in the middle of downtown New Brunswick on 350 George street. We haven't eaten here yet, but the menu looks awesome and the locals say its very good. The interior is sophisticated and smart. We loved the beautiful use of reds browns and golds throughout as it really gives it a swanky yet classy feel. Thursday Nights are the hot nights at Hotoke as it gets a good younger party crowd! Well worth a visit if your a sushi fan.
Arthurs Tavern Steak House North Brunswick NJ
How do you write a review for Arthurs Tavern in North Brunswick (right on the border of New Brunswick)? It seems to have been a fixture here for years. We have always loved Arthurs but lately have mixed emotions. It seems to be more hit and miss than in the previous past when it was more consistent. The recent new owners have merged with Harolds Deli and now there are even more oversized portions on the menu. The main reason to visit here is their famous oversized Delmonico Steaks. The Pork Chops are awesome too. The reason that we cannot jump out of our seats for Athur's anymore is well, for three reasons really. The decor inside is just drab already from looking at for the last 10 years. The price of the Steak just keeps going up all the time, and lastly because you just never know what kind of cut of steak you are going to get. Sometimes it is on the fatty side. But we are nitpicking here. Arthurs is still well worth a visit for a 22 oz steak and a 32 oz beer! Yum! |

Cool Staff outside of the Heldrich Hotel
Very helpful staff told us all about area attractions and gave us some heads up about the Heldrich itself. These two parking valets out front were extremely helpful and polite. After speaking with them we were even more convinced that this was a great place to stay.

Christopher's Bar & Restaurant New Brunswick
Christopher's has a menu that is sure to please everyone. The restaurant is sophisticated and chic. The bar area is separate and has several TV's for sports fans. One of the problems that we encountered when we walked in, was that the bartender on duty that day was more interested in the races on TV and reading his text messages than to give us the good service we expected from such an upscale Hotel. |

|
Christopher's bar Dining area
The dining area in Christopher's is quite relaxing. It is casual with a hint of an upscale feel. You can either eat in the bar area or in a separate area in the back which is a bit more secluded. Overall we had a pretty good time at Christopher's | |
