Sponsored by the Highlands Tourism Partnership, the Last Fling Pumpkin Sling invites students in junior high, high school or involved in civic groups as well as adults to build a catapult or trebuchet that can sling a pumpkin. A collaboration of brain and brawn with students working together as a team. The teams will come together to compete on the third weekend in October in Warren County, NJ. Area maps will be available so those that are visiting the event can also enjoy the beautiful fall foliage and explore the nearby historic sites and farms. At the Newark Bears' “Stadium of Screams,” a ballpark becomes a haunted house!

"Stadium of Screams" will run on the following days: October 18 - 21, 25 - 28 and 31 from 8 p.m. to midnight.
Admission into the stadium, where there will be live entertainment and costume contests, are free. Admission into the three haunted attractions is $20. A hay ride that takes place on the field at "The Den" costs $5. Carnival games range from $0.25-$1.00.  Mystery dinners are also available.

On Saturday, October 27, the Bears are giving Fido an opportunity to join in on the holiday fun with the first annual "Barkula" - a costume contest for dogs - with winners being chosen for scariest, most creative and cutest costumes, as well as a talent competition and an Ugliest Dog contest!
