New Jersey Children’s Museum 599 Valley Health Plaza  Paramus, New Jersey 07652 201- 262-5151 Young children are often cautioned not to touch things when they’re out and about.  However, that rule goes out the window at the New Jersey Children’s Museum in Paramus, where kids are encouraged to touch EVERYTHING around them!  This fun filled museum caters to toddlers, pre-schoolers and early learners, and contains over thirty different play areas in a 15,000 square foot area.  Children will love playing ”grown up” in the grocery store area that is sized just for them, and pretend to be “ballerinas” in the dance area, complete with little tutus they can wear.

Kids are excited to climb aboard a real fire engine and helicopter or see themselves on a monitor when they pretend to be news anchors and weather people on TV. Among the many different educational hands on play themes, is a really cool hospital setting, where youngsters can get a better idea of how x-rays work and where they can find out a bit about disabilities that some people have.

So much to do! Other areas allow children to explore a prehistoric cave, make believe they’re in the Wild West, or even in a fantasy castle.
