The Essex County Presby Memorial Iris Gardens is the largest public iris garden in the U.S. and is listed on the State and National Registers of Historic Sites. The display beds contain thousands of iris varieties that produce over 100,000 blooms each May. It is a LIVING MUSEUM with iris varieties dating back to the 1500s, offering a spectacular display to visitors from all over the world.
Bring your lunch and use our picnic tables or stretch out a blanket on the great lawn. The garden offers a cell phone tour, a unique gift shop, events and music on the weekends in May.
