The Big Playhouse NJ events Join the The Big Playhouse for an unforgettable summer of good olde-fashioned fun! Macculloch Hall Concert Series concert events in NJ Final performance by Mipso in our “Summer Concert in the Garden Series.” Mipso performs a combination of Americana, indie and folk music. The renegade traditionalists of Mipso are Jacob Sharp on mandolin, Joseph Terrell on guitar, and Wood Robinson on double bass. Tickets for each concert will go on sale from 1pm on the day of the performance, no advance sales. Tickets are $15; $10 for members, seniors, students. Children under 12 are free. On concert days the Museum building is open 1-4pm, and a special $5 Museum admission ticket can also be purchased by concert ticket purchasers. Macculloch Hall unique Northern NJ events Summer Adventure Program at Macculloch Hall Historical Museum presents “Secrets of the Civil War” during the week of July 28 – August 1. Each morning, 9am – 12 noon, take part in activities that explore this fascinating time in American history. Hands-on projects include building a model of a Civil War battlefield, making replicas of the ships “Merrimack” and “Monitor”, and using the secret code systems used by the Union and Confederate troops. Children will also learn about nineteenth century illustrator Thomas Nast, create an original work of art, and try printing for themselves using brayers and ink. The Summer Adventures “Secrets of the Civil War” program is recommended for children ages 9 – 12 years old. Preregistration is required. Let your children be immersed in 15 hours of happy, healthy fun this summer led by our energetic and nurturing teachers! We are offering a really special yoga camp for Kids and Tween/Teens. We've incorporated the wisdom of this ancient practice into our modern world, providing excellent yoga instruction of asana, breathing and meditation as well as fun and creativity. The young yogis will help make healthy snacks (yummy smoothies) and each day we will make a special, high quality craft for the yogins to bring home. Typical day will include: Meditation, Breathing Techniques, Yoga Asanas, Music & Games, Making Healthy Smoothies, Arts & Crafts, and Relaxation Time.

Depending on each session, some of the activities may include: Make your own Mala Beads / decorated yoga mat / eye pillows / picture frame; Customizing a signature scent with blending essential oils; Partner Yoga poses; Thai Yoga Massage Lesson. All inclusive cost is just $150 per yogi, with discounts for siblings and double sessions.

Each day is 1:30-4:30pm. Young Yogins Summer Camp is for children ages 9 - 14 years old.

Macculloch Hall kid-friendly events in NJ “Growing in the Garden” is a year-round hands-on art program for 3 - 5 year olds and their caregivers using natural resources found in Macculloch Hall Historical Museum’s garden. The program includes a story, a walk in the garden, and an art project and meets the first and third Tuesday each month with three session times available: 10:15 – 11am, 1:15 – 2 pm or 3:45 – 4:30 pm.

Where does a hummingbird’s “hum” come from? On Tuesday, August 19th children will learn about the hummingbirds’ “hum” and the special diet these tiny birds need. Children will make a hummingbird mobile so they can see hummingbirds year round.

Space is limited and pre-registration is required. Pre-register by phone at 973-538-2404, ext. 16 or by email cwinslow@maccullochhall.org. The cost for each program is $8 per adult/child pair (for members and $12/pair for non-members.

Notre Dame vs. Syracuse College Football upcoming events NJ Notre Dame is one of the most legendary college football programs ever. The Fighting Irish have won 11 National Championships, a record 7 Notre Dame players have won the Heisman trophy, and the program has produced an NCAA record 96 consensus All-Americans and 32 unanimous All-Americans, more than any other university.

Syracuse is the 14th-winningest program in college football. Syracuse has 22 bowl game appearances and has earned invitations to all four Bowl Championship Series Bowl games. With 17 former players and coaches in the College Football Hall of Fame, Syracuse is one of seven schools with that many representatives. Syracuse has six representatives in the Pro Football Hall of Fame, one of eight schools with at least six alums enshrined.

Notre Dame and Syracuse last met in 2008. The Orange stunned Notre Dame 24-23 to even the series at 3-3.
